On this day in 1930 BBC Radio announced in a 6.30pm news bulletin that there was no news for that day and instead played piano music for the duration of the programme.

This is one of the absolute most incredible lines, but what makes it is Matt Smith’s delivery. There is calm rage there, anger beyond comprehension. The darkness hiding in the Doctor’s broken heart.
